red to the neck

I love Destin, so much so that when I first heard it referred to as the “redneck Riviera” I was a little offended.  What do they know, I thought. That NASCAR umbrella next to me? Surely those unfortunate people were last in line at Wal-Mart and that’s all they had left. I’m sure they are as mortified as I am about it. Those people from Tennessee who speak a foreign dialect and don’t know how to properly set up at the beach? Well, they are from Tennessee. That doesn’t mean the whole beach is redneck, right?

And then, just a few short hours after we got here on Saturday, this scene greeted us…

Just what you want at your idyllic beach wedding, right? A couple of neighbors in their beach chairs.  And don’t forget the cooler. I sure hope they made it into some of the pictures…

Oh no. They’re making people wear white tops and khaki bottoms. I’ve made it clear how I feel about that. Bless their hearts.

I’ll take the beach any way that I can get it.  We just got back from two weeks at Rosemary Beach!  Hope your trip is just as great.  Come link up to arkansasbloggers.blogspot.com.
